ARTS Audit Status Report

To retrieve the information you need, the following are the definitions of the parameter fields:

Entity Type, County, or Number:
% - is a wildcard, and is the default setting. Using this will provide you a listing of all entities.
Our entity code is a six-digit code.

The first two digits represent the entity type (i.e., county 01, city 02, etc). The third and fourth digits represent the county in which the entity resides. The fifth and six digits identify an individual entity within the selected county and entity type.

For a listing of entity types, run this report: Entity Types This two digit identifying number can then be used to query for all entities of a particular type, or for all entities of a particular type within a specific county.

For a listing of all identified local government entities and the Department number for them, run this report: Entity Number The first two pages of this report will list all county governments. As noted above, the third and fourth digits identify the particular county. These numbers are needed to query for audit information on other types of governments within a county or for all local governments within a county.

Examples:

If you just wanted to see results for Phillips County, you would enter 013601. 01 represents the type of entity (county in this case); 36 represent the specific county in which the entity is located (i.e., Phillips County), and the final two digits identify the specific entity of that type. For a county government, these final two digits would always be "01" as there is only a single county government within a county. For other types of local government entities within a county there could be several, and these final two digits would identify the specific entity of the type selected.

If you wanted all cities/towns in Phillips County, you could enter 0236%. 02 represents the type of entity; 36 represents the county the entity is located; and % is a wildcard which will allow the query to provide you with all cities/towns in the county.

If you wanted all entities in a particular county, you would enter underscore (underline) twice, then the number of the county desired, and then underscore (underline) two more times. For example, if you wanted audit information on all local government entities in Phillips County you would enter _ _ 36 _ _ (without any spaces between the underscores or underlines and the two-digit county identification number).

Select the Fiscal Year: This year represents the entity fiscal year end.

Example: 2004 would apply to entities with a fiscal year ending on any date from January 1, 2004 through December 31, 2004.

Audit Firm Roster: This drop down listing includes all Audit Firms/Practitioners that have ever been included on the Department audit roster. Some Firms/Practitioners in this listing may no longer be active or may no longer be included on the current Auditor Roster. Also included on this drop down listing of audit firms is a listing for "Unknown Or Not Selected At This Time". You can use this listing to query for entities that are required to be audited for a particular fiscal year but that have not yet selected an auditor or have not yet submitted an audit contract to the Department for approval.

Summary: The Audit Status Report will only provide information on a local government for which there is an approved audit contract or which the Department of Administration has identified as being required to be audited for the year selected. If there is no audit contract or if the Department has not yet identified the entity as being required to be audited, there will be no audit information for that particular year. This will usually be the case when an annual financial report has not yet been received for a local government entity for a fiscal year, or when you are running the report prior to 12/31 and OPI has not yet provided the Department with the required listing of school districts and special education cooperatives required to be audited for the year ended the preceding June 30.
